This particular watch was produced in 1973 (Serial Number: 37*****) and retains its original MKVI "feet first" dial with red SUBMARINER and closed sixes on the depth rating. The unpolished case has been left in original condition but can be professionally refurbished at the request on the new owner. The watch also retains its original bezel insert and open 6 date wheel. The hands were most likely changed during its service with Rolex in June 2017 where a modern Rolex Oyster bracelet was also fitted. The 1680 "Single Red" was the first Submariner to feature a date window at the 3 o'clock position and unsurprisingly displays a single line of red text (SUBMARINER) on the dial. The "Single Red" was in production between 1967 and 1975 and produced with a total of 8 different dial variations typically referred to as MK1 through MK8 (often appearing as MKI to MKVIII). The watch is complete with inner and outer boxes, both manuals, 1973 calendar card, original Submariner anchor, both hang tags, Rolex service document dated 1981, Rolex service card dated 2017 and original 9315 Rolex Oyster bracelet.
