FIND YOUR NEXT ROLEX KERMIT
One of our favourite Rolex Submariner models is the Rolex Kermit. The Rolex Kermit was in production between 2004 and 2010 and features a 40mm stainless steel case with a black dial and green aluminium bezel insert. The watch is fitted with the Oyster bracelet and powered by the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic movement with date window at the 3 o'clock position and magnification cyclops on the sapphire crystal. All our Rolex Kermit watches are available with free UK delivery and a 24 month warranty.
The Rolex Kermit is a masterpiece in watchmaking craftsmanship, merging advanced technology with Rolex's celebrated meticulousness. This watch exhibits a variety of notable attributes that distinguish it in the high-end watch segment. From its sturdy build to its precision movement, each element of the Kermit has been meticulously thought out to ensure outstanding functionality and elegance. Let's explore the essential details that make this watch a standout among Rolex's collection.
The Kermits case highlights the company's dedication to durability through its choice of Rolex Oystersteel, a special alloy made in-house that's corrosion resistant. This element keeps its shine despite harsh environments, ensuring the watch lasts a long time. Alongside the Oystersteel case, the bezel insert is made from aluminium. The dial is protected by a virtually scratchproof sapphire crystal, guaranteeing clear visibility in all environments.
Central to the Rolex Kermit lies the Caliber 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. This movement includes the Chronergy escapement and a blue Parachrom hairspring, providing enhanced accuracy and durability against shocks and changes in temperature. Holding a power reserve of about 48 hours, the Caliber 3135 guarantees dependable timekeeping even when the watch is not in use for extended periods.
The Hulk stands out primarily because of its green aluminium bezel. This bezel serves not just a decorative purpose but also acts as a practical device for monitoring elapsed time whilst diving. The 60 minute graduated bezel is designed to turn in only one direction, anti-clockwise.
The dial of the Rolex Kermit exhibits the traditional Submariner design on a black background. It features large Super-LumiNova hour markers and hands equipped with Rolex's long-lasting luminescent material, guaranteeing clear visibility in every light situation. The three o'clock date display is improved by a Cyclops lens, making it easy to read.
For those seeking a sportier style, the Oyster bracelet stands out as a top pick. This three-link bracelet, celebrated for its toughness and comfort, has been a key component of Rolex's Professional watch line. Crafted from Oystersteel, it strikes the ideal equilibrium between toughness and elegance, enhancing the tool watch lineage of the Kermit.
The Rolex Kermit retains the timeless design that has made the Submariner so popular among watch connoisseurs. Its shape is meticulously engineered to find the ideal balance between elegance and presence on the wrist. Below is a detailed analysis of its most important features:
The Rolex Kermit is equipped with outstanding protection against water, with a rating of 300 meters (1000 feet). This exceptional water protection is achieved thanks to Rolex's signature Oyster case construction, which includes a screw-down crown and caseback. Specifically made for deep-sea diving, this water protection rating guarantees that the watch can exceed common water exposure activities like swimming and snorkeling, making it an ideal watch for any event.
The Rolex Kermit was released by Rolex in 2004 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Submariner. The Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit evolved throughout its production until it was finally replaced by the Rolex Submariner 116610LV Hulk in 2010. The Rolex Kermit is powered by the automatic Rolex calibre 3135 with date located at the 3 o'clock position. The Rolex Kermit can be identified by the slightly larger hour markers and hands than the standard 16610 Date. The Kermit also features the distinctive green bezel insert. The Rolex Submariner 16610LV was fitted with the same 93250 oyster bracelet as the Rolex Submariner 16610 Date. Very early examples, and there aren't many, of the Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit can be found with lug hole cases. These watches are only on Y serial and a highly desirable, and valuable! Most, if not all 16610LV's will be found with non lug hole cases. Late examples of the Rolex Submariner 16610LV, from 2008, also feature the engraved inner rehaut displaying the serial number at the 6 o'clock position. Over the years there have been numerous variations of the MAXI dial and bezel fitted to the Rolex Kermit.
