Rolex Submariner 16610 History.

Released in 1988, the Rolex Submariner 16610 remained largely unchanged until it was replaced by the ceramic bezel 116610LN in 2010. Powered by the calibre 3135 automatic movement the Rolex Submariner 16610 featured the iconic Oyster bracelet with folding clasp and divers extension, black dial, trip-lock crown and uni-directional divers bezel. Prior to 1998 watches were fitted with tritium T25 dials. In 1999 the 'SWISS' Only dial found its way into the Rolex Submariner before being replaced by the 'SWISS MADE' SuperLumiNova version in 2000. In 2004 Rolex deleted the lug holes and from 2007 Rolex added the engraved inner rehaut which displayed the serial number of the watch at the 6 o'clock position.
