OUR 5 MINUTE REVIEW OF THE ROLEX SEA DWELLER 16660 TRIPLE SIX
Sit back and read our 5 minute review of the Rolex Sea Dweller 16660 "Triple Six". The 40mm Rolex Sea Dweller 16660 was released in 1978 and replaced the Sea Dweller 1665. The Rolex Sea Dweller 16660 is considered a transitional model. The depth rating increased to 1220m or 4000 ft thanks to the addition of a sapphire crystal and a larger and more reliable helium escape valve.

ROLEX SEA DWELLER 16600
The Rolex Sea Dweller 16660 features a 40mm stainless steel case with helium escape valve, sapphire crystal, a uni-directional divers bezel in black aluminium and is powered by the Rolex calibre 3035 automatic movement with date. Early examples of the Sea Dweller 16660 were fitted with matte black dials with printed tritium hour markers. The dials fitted to Sea Dwellers after 1988 were still "SWISS-T>25" but the hour markers were now applied and had white gold surrounds. The Sea Dweller 16660 wears an Oyster bracelet with folding clasp and divers extension.

ROLEX SEA DWELLER 16660 - 3035 MOVEMENT:
The Rolex Sea Dweller 16660 is powered by the caliber 3035, an automatic movement with 27 jewels.The rotor that powers this movement is bidirectional and when fully wound the movement will have a power reserve of 50 hours. The movement displays seconds, hours, minutes, and date at 3 o’clock. The Rolex Caliber 3035 has a quickset date function and can also be found in the Rolex Datejust 36 from the mid 1970/80's.
