Sit back and read our 5 minute review of the Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit. The 16610LV Kermit was released by Rolex in 2004 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolex Submariner. The Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit evolved throughout its production until it was finally replaced by the Rolex Submariner 116610LV Hulk in 2010. All versions of the now iconic Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit featured a black "MAXI" dial with applied hour markers and a green bezel insert - the rest of the watch was identical to the standard Rolex Submariner 16610 Date.
The Rolex Submariner 16610 was released in 1988 and was powered by the brands longest serving movement, the automatic Rolex calibre 3135 with date located at the 3 o'clock position. The Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit was release in 2004 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner and featured a black "MAXI" dial with slightly larger hour markers and hands than the standard 16610 Date. The Kermit also features the distinctive green bezel insert. The Rolex Submariner 16610LV was fitted with the same 93250 oyster bracelet as the Rolex Submariner 16610 Date. Very early examples, and there aren't many, of the Rolex Submariner 16610LV can be found with lug hole cases. These watches are only on Y serial and a highly desirable, and valuable! Most, if not all 16610LV's will be found with non lug hole cases. Late examples of the Rolex Submariner 16610LV, from 2008, also feature the engraved inner rehaut displaying the serial number at the 6 o'clock position. Over the years there have been numerous variations of the MAXI dial and bezel fitted to the 16610LV - we will save this for another article as it can be rather confusing.

The Rolex Submariner 16610LV Kermit is powered by the caliber 3135, a certified Chronometer with 31 jewels. The calibre 3135 was first announced by Rolex in 1988, and over four decades later, the movement is still in production. The rotor that powers this movement is bidirectional and when fully wound the movement will have a power reserve of 48 hours. It displays center seconds, hours, minutes, and date at 3 o’clock. The Rolex Caliber 3135 is a movement that is used in a large number of watches from Rolex. As such, if you see a Rolex watch with a date function, chances are, it is powered by the 3135.
